Thanks to @LSThrasher04 on Twitter for bringing this to my attention!
It looks like graphic MagicBands, Limited Release MagicBands, and customized MagicBand On Demand bands have gotten a price increase. As seen at Pin Traders in Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney) today, the price of a standard Open Edition Graphic MagicBand is now $22.99, up from $19.99, and a Limited Release MagicBand is now at $27.99, up from $24.99. This represents a $3 increase in price, which is roughly ~12% overall increase.
Here’s a picture of the new prices from Pin Traders:
For customized MagicBands at the MagicBand On Demand stations, the price has also increased $3. For the standard MagicBands from the station the price has gone from $21.99 to $24.99, and for customizable bands with a name printed on them, the price has increase from $29.99 to $32.99. Here’s a picture:
Update: Limited Edition MagicBands have also gone up in price by $3 and are now $32.99, up from $29.99.
In my opinion, this increase to me shows that MagicBands are selling really well, and Disney is looking to cash in even more the popularity of them. Recently Disney Parks Blog did an end-of-year post about how retail MagicBands were the “most popular item” at Walt Disney World for 2015.
Glad I bought my Limited Edition Star Wars Magic bands last week.
Limited Release, I should say.
I noticed today that the Santa Mickey and Minnie Limited Edition Holiday band is on sale on DisneyStore.com for $15.99, which is a great deal (especially in light of this price increase!) if you haven’t already picked one up!
Wow, great price, thanks for the tip!
so they all got raised and the newer ones do less? from what I’ve heard valentines and easter only work at the entrance no longer at fast pass
