Princess Leia white MagicBand released for May the 4th “Star Wars Day” 2017

A new white base colored MagicBand featuring Princess Leia Organa from Star Wars, with R2-D2 on the reverse side, has been released today to celebrate May the 4th “Star Wars Day” 2017. It’s also a nice tribute to Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia) and Kenny Baker (R2-D2) who both just recently passed away. This MagicBand is a Limited Release and costs $27.99. The barcode SKU for this item is 400020187680.

This should be available even after May 4th and 5th. For now you can find this band on the Shop Disney Parks mobile app and DisneyStore.com starting today. This is also available at Hollywood Studios today as well. This is a very nice band, but I have to be honest that I’m a bit disappointed that it wasn’t Limited Edition instead of Limited Release.

  1. Too bad they didn’t make this band a Limited Edition band that played the iconic “Help me Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope” at touchpoints. Seems like a missed opportunity.

  2. That definitely would have been nice. Or even hearing R2-D2 sounds.

We can “only hope” this one ends up being the first limited release to make special effects…lol 🙂

    Forgive me silly pun, haha

  3. I would have liked to see this band and the black 40th anniversary as LE’s…to me they both have special meanings worthy of an LE …instead of 3 beauty and beast bands.

    • Totally agree!!! I think Disney did Limited Releases for these because they wanted to sell as many as possible. If they sell 5000, they can make another 5000 more and still call it “limited”. Plus, LE boxes cost extra to produce, whereas adding an LR sticker costs them nothing and they make $5 more. There are plenty of business reasons they did it this way.

But I still agree with you from a fan perspective. 🙂
