Rogue One – Director Krennic
This MagicBand was released to celebrate the release of Rogue One (the new Star Wars movie) in theaters. This band was released on Opening Day December 16th, 2016 and features Director Krennic, one of the main villains of the movie. It’s a Limited Edition size of 2000. This band does make special effects at entry touch points but I don’t yet have a video of it. Apparently the Mickey circle lights up red with sounds of the alarm siren from the Rogue One movie. Price is $32.99 and the SKU / barcode is 400020014726.
May the 4th and Revenge of the 5th, 2016
May 4th is considered Star Wars Day and has a special saying associated with it of “May the 4th be with you”. May 5th is also a special day as well, with an addition saying of “Revenge of the 5th”. In recognition of those days Disney has often released special merchandise to celebrate them. For the first time ever Disney has released two special Limited Edition MagicBands for these days, and they are limited to 750 each per style.
These bands retail for $32.99 and can only be found in The Dark Room and Mickey’s of Hollywood in Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme parks. I was told they were also in The Launch Bay, but when I went there I didn’t see any. You cannot buy these online or through the Shop Disney Parks mobile app. Because these are only limited to 750 each, they will go fast, as these are the lowest released MagicBands ever made for the walk-up public to buy. When I bought mine, I was told that they are 1 per person, not 2 per person like other LE bands have been.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – Kylo Ren
A new Limited Edition MagicBand of Kylo Ren was released in Watto’s Grotto at Hollywood Studios on December 26th, 2015. There are only 2015 of these and they make lights and sounds at FastPass+ and entry touch points in Hollywood Studios. Disney’s merchandise SKU barcode for this MagicBand is 400000234007.

Star Wars Weekends 2015
These Limited Edition Star Wars Weekends MagicBands were released May 14th, 2015 for the Galactic Gathering Event attendees and May 15th, 2015 for regular guests attending Star Wars Weekends 2015. These were available in the Watto’s Grotto and X-Wing Collectables stores of Darth’s Mall in Hollywood Studios. It was only open during the five Star Wars Weekends on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays and you couldn’t find these elsewhere within Hollywood Studios. Both of these MagicBands completely sold out by the end of Weekend #2.
These are Limited Edition #/2500 and $29.95 each. Limit two per person. Boxes are the same for both bands. Because they are Limited Edition, they do make special lights and sounds at FastPass+ touch points.

Star Wars Weekends 2015 – Galactic Gathering Event
Released May 14th, 2015. They were only given (one is free) and sold to attendees of the Galactic Gathering Event. Each guest was limited to two bands per style. All bands had to have been pre-ordered and they could not be purchased on the day of the event.
The green lightsaber band is only Limited Edition #/330 and the red lightsaber is #/350, making these are some of the rarest MagicBands ever obtainable by the public at retail. What’s great is that these even come in their own custom themed box (the box is the same for each band). Because they are Limited Edition they do make special lights and sounds at FastPass+ touch points.

Star Wars Weekends 2014
The Yoda (green) and Darth Vader (red) MagicBands are limited edition 2500 each and were released at Star Wars Weekends 2014 in Darth’s Mall on Weekend #5. When tapped to a FastPass+ touchpoint at Hollywood Studios, Yoda will turn the Mickey symbol green and speak a phrase, and Darth Vader will turn the Mickey symbol red and make a breathing noise. These were the first ever graphic MagicBands released to the public for sale. They were never sold as “Link-It Later”, as that wasn’t an option at the time these were released, so all bands sold were linked to an account at the time of purchase.

Special Set
There is a special set of these Vader and Yoda bands produced for Mark Lewis, one of the main executives at Disney in charge of MagicBand development and rollout, that are different from the publicly released bands in two ways. First, the bands (both Yoda and Vader) say “Mark” on the back instead of “2014 Limited Edition 2,500”. Secondly, both bands are set to Link-It Later mode, which has never been seen before for these bands and are the only known Vader and Yoda bands ever set to this linkable mode, as the public had to link them upon purchase in 2014. There may have been a few other sets made specifically for executives on the MagicBand or MyMagic+ (Next Generation Experience) team, but this is the only publicly know set currently like this. These bands are otherwise identical and came in the same two boxes as the public bands did.
