Disney announces a vacation package that includes a MagicBand gift in a special box

Disney has quietly released details of a new holiday vacation package offering that includes a MagicBand gift in a special keepsake box. The box is gold with Tinker Bell on it. The vacation package must be booked by November 15th, 2017 for select dates in 2018, the vacation must be for at least 3 nights, and you must buy at least a 2-day ticket per guest. It’s clear that this package is aimed at families who live at least a few hours from Central Florida who want to take an extended vacation sometime within the next year. You can read all about the details of this vacation package and book directly through Disney by clicking here.

The band itself looks great. It’s on a white base and has some nice graphics of the Magic Kingdom, monorail, tea cups, Dumbo, a Mickey balloon, the Tree of Life from Animal Kingdom, Jungle Cruise, and other features. What the special box looks like is unknown at this time though. The band isn’t considered a Limited Release or Limited Edition band, but rather a promotional band for a vacation package. Nevertheless, it will most likely be an extremely rare band considering the cost it will take just to get these.

It’s very much possible that these bands could make special effects at touch points, similar to what the Awaken Summer vacation packages bands did in 2016. They had unique sounds at every single park, including the Blizzard Beach waterpark entry touch points.

  1. My mom and I are such Magic Band nuts that we thought about buying this package even though we are Annual Pass Holders just for this Magic Band.

    We have a problem.

  2. I had a similar situation, I had to go to my reservation and change it to the “gift” package. There were no changes to dates or price. Then you have to go to the customize magic bands option before the mid-month deadline and select the promotional band. Thanks Magic Band Collector for the heads up.

  3. Ours came in the mail today and I am about to loose my mind I’m so excited! I haven’t been to Disney since the summer of 1998 and my husband and I are surprising our 8 and 3 year old boys next summer with a week long trip. We aren’t saying anything about where we are going, we are just going to let them figure it out when we drive up!!! I’m so glad we were able to get these awesome bands too!!! Omg I’m so EXCITED!!!! I’m probably going to drive my husband NUTS until next June!!! Lol

  4. I received my bands today but not with the golden box. I’m so disappointed. They came in a junk plain white box. Nothing special at all. Was going to be a surprise Christmas gift for the kids. Not sure what to do now. They’re too young to realize what the magic band is, but the golden tinker bell box would have been a really nice touch.

    • Hi Karen, it appears you weren’t booked on the special vacation package that gave out these MagicBands in the Tinker Bell box. Have you called Disney and asked for an explanation?

  5. Season,
Do you still have 2 bands? Would you consider selling 2 if they are in good condition? We get married in Disney World this year and me and the wife-to-be love these!
